ultimo the representatives of that Hospital pointed out

an area of some 52,640 Square Feet in Kennedy Town, shown

on the attached tracing as the site which they proposed

for a Smallpox Hospital. This site (a portion of which is

at the present time occupied by a matshed hospital for

Smallpox erected by the Directors of the Tung Wa Hospital

in the spring of this year) is acceptable both to the

Principal Civil Medical Officer, and the Director of

Public Works, and I have therefore the honour to request

Your Lordship's authority to grant a lease of it to the

Committee of the Tung Wa Hospital subject to the conditions

of which I enclose a copy. The value of the site is

estimated by the Director of Public Works to be $8,722.
